Are you passionate about public opinion, polling, and politics? Do you have a knack for data and a keen eye for detail? If so, GSG is seeking an Associate to join the Data Analysis team within our Research practice. GSG works directly with national political leaders and influential associations on important issues facing the country. Working alongside a highly accomplished team in a fast-paced environment, Associates handle multiple projects at any given time for different internal project groups and external clients.



Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Working on a mixture of political campaign polling, along with corporate and public affairs research projects
  • Identifying and collecting data needed to construct phone and online survey quota targets
  • Programming, testing, and managing online survey research projects
  • Processing survey data to produce toplines and cross tabulations, and to perform quantitative analyses
  • Developing workflows to improve internal processes

Qualifications:

  • Experience with a programming language, such as Python, SQL, R, or C#
  • Experience with large individual-level datasets, such as voter files, survey data, or consumer databases
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • High comfort level with quantitative data and analysis
  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • Excellent project management skills, as well as a proven ability to successfully juggle multiple assignments
  • The ability to be a team player who can maintain strong working relationships
  • The ability to work efficiently with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • The flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques and methodologies
  • Strong interest in politics and polling
  • Software development experience and working knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML and CSS is a plus
  • Experience with online survey platforms, such as Confirmit, Decipher, and Qualtrics preferred
  • Quantitative market research experience and knowledge of survey methodology and research preferred
  • Statistics coursework/background is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
