Description
As the Senior Research Associate, you are part of the APM Research Lab (www.APMResearchLab.org). In this role, you will help establish APM Research as a valued source of credible research and analysis, useful to informing a wide variety of news outlets, both within and outside of American Public Media, as well as the broader public.
Your role will plan and conduct literature reviews, data analysis, surveys, and/or original research that useful to American Public Media and the broader community. Disseminate the results through written reports, presentations, web content, social media, and other means. Manage projects, budgets, and supervise employees as needed.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in research-related field
- 10+ years of relevant work experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Desire to perform all aspects of research and analysis in a manner that strives toward objectively-identified results and conclusions as opposed to favoring pre-conceived opinions or personal/political biases.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to see patterns and stories in information and data.
- Excellent communicator in a variety of formats (formal and informal writing, presenting, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to establish work priorities and manage workload.
- Ability to document processes and develop recommendations for improved processes.
- Maintains working knowledge of demographic, economic, social and related trends and innovations in data offerings and tools. Incorporates new data and modes of communicating that data, as appropriate.
- Ability to effectively work within a team to achieve organization goals.
- Proficient at using Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with intermediate data analysis and use of one or more statistical software packages.
